About
Wat Botum Park a large open space with fountains, benches and a children's playground. The park lies east of Wat Botumvtey, one of the city's oldest and most prestigious temples, and is also the site of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Monument.
There is not a whole lot of greenery here, but the wide open space - a rarity in the city - attracts large crowds in the late afternoon and evening. At sunset locals from the neighborhood come to perform group aerobics to their favorite tunes. And on warm evenings a carnival-like atmosphere pervades as families bring their children for street food, picnics and play.
The diversity of the crowd - from skateboarders and fitness groups, to laughing children and saffron-robed monks - makes this park one of the best places in the city to relax and soak up the atmosphere.
