About
The whole family can learn about Khmer culture and heritage by visiting this non-profit arts school that serves primarily disadvantaged local children by providing free training in traditional art, music and dance techniques.
Tour the studio where young artists and monks learn how to draw and paint traditional scenes and temple art.
In the music room, you can catch a jam session using traditional instruments such as the roneat thung and kong toch. The students will show you their instruments and may even let you try them out.
But the highlight for most visitors is the traditional dance show, where the school's students perform classical and folkloric dances. This is not your usual performance. The students and instructors will explain the meaning of the dances, and the audience is encouraged to come on stage and participate. Visitors can try on traditional outfits and the young performers will take them through the steps and intricate movements.
