Amarak Farm is a sprawling escape near Phnom Penh where kids can trade city noise for a real working countryside experience. The farm is a massive playground in itself, home to resident chickens, geese, and rabbits, with rows of fresh lettuce, rocket and basil to explore.

Families can rent bikes to tour the property or head straight to the dedicated play area, which features a climbing wall, slide, and sandbox, along with plenty of sturdy trees for natural climbing.

For high-energy afternoons, the large grassy fields are perfect for flying kites or a game of futsal, while the lake and swimming pool offer a welcome cool-down.

The dining vibe is refreshingly relaxed; you can grab a table at the restaurant, bring your own picnic to a quiet corner, or even fire up an onsite BBQ to grill your own lunch — including any fish the kids might manage to hook from the pond. It’s an ideal spot for an unplugged family day where the "entertainment" is simply fresh air and wide-open space.

If you need more time, ask about overnight stays in their boutique guestrooms, or pick a spot to pitch your own tent. Tents are available for rent if you need them.

Amarak Farm can get busy with large groups, especially on weekends and holidays, so it's advisable to let them know you're coming. Remember to bring hats, sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
