Classical Dance Performance

"This is a compilation of four Cambodian classical dances title 'Stages of Age'. Two of them are older works, the other two are original choreographies from the master Sophiline Cheam Shapiro (founder of Sophiline Arts Ensemble). The dances narrate, in their own words, the advancement of one’s life by unfolding the images, ideas, and remarkable events that life is destined to encounter, celebrate, resolve, and sometimes surrender."

- Tickets are $10 per person

- Taking place during the weekend (Sat+Sun) Maloop Garden Market

- Venue is the same as the market, on an outdoor stage

- Performance times on both days (Sat+Sun) beginning at 5pm

- Show duration is 1hr

The Next Generation is a performance program organized by 'Prumsodun Ok' and 'NATYARASA' (the first gay dance company in Cambodia). Aiming to showcase the rich potential of the next generation of Khmer artists, by giving them the opportunity to produce, choreograph, and perform their original creations. They support projects that engage with classical dance, as well as those that question the boundaries between classical and contemporary.  អមោឃបាស (amoghapasa) translates to “unbreakable rope” represents their intention to honor the ancient tradition of Khmer classical dance, while carrying it to the future by empowering the next generation of artists, teachers, producers and leaders.
