Hand-Building Ceramics Workshop for Beginners

Event description (summary by CK):

Learn the basics of hand-building pottery using coiling techniques to create your own stoneware cups, bowls, or small decorative pieces for everyday use. Each participant will receive 500g of high-fire clay and simple tools to freely craft their work. The workshop includes a brief introduction to additional pottery techniques and an overview of the drying and firing process. After the session, pieces will be dried, glazed, and fired twice. Participants can choose from four glaze colors: black, green, white, or blue. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup in approximately three months. The workshop is led by Lolli, a self-taught artist from South Korea based in Cambodia since 2015, who works across illustration, printmaking, and ceramics. She is co-founder of NOWHERE Art, an independent artist-run initiative established in Phnom Penh in 2015. Groups of at least 4 people can choose their own date for private workshops.

NOTE: there is a large lily pond on the premises, an old swimming pool which has been repurposed, with a path around the edges and no guard rails. So families with smaller children may need to keep watch on their little ones.
